Reflection
Describe the connections between what you studied in this course with what you've learned in other courses at SLCC. Make specific references to your work in this class and in the other courses.
I have mixed feeling concerning this course. I can see the major implications for global information finding its way into everyday society. I was able to research a little information about drones and the effect they will have on privacy and science. I can relate only the science learned in this course with other courses such as physics and basic mathematics. This course was nearly a stand alone course when it came to the type of information I was able to obtain. I think the addition to my career skills will have benefited more than my overall educational experience.
How did what you learn in the other courses enhance what you learned in here, and vice verse?
So far I have not come across an outside course that has enhanced what I have learned in this course. This course was highly geared towards learning a specific software, ArcGIS Desktop. I can see the benefits of attending this course if GIS were to be my chosen career path. I was not expecting to learn a new software package while attending this course. I hope I am able to find and implement something from this course into my current career as a Senior CAD Designer. I do not see myself continuing with any additional coursework from the GIS arena.

"I will never actively seek out leadership
positions. I never want to say I have ‘followers.’ I cannot allow myself to
actively cause change to people’s lives unless they ask for my help. I will
always seek out those opportunities which bring me one step closer to my goals;
taking on leadership roles just happens to be one of those opportunities. In
conclusion I prefer to be the reluctant leader and I accept all the
misunderstanding which may occur in the pursuit of my future." - Christopher F. Thompson 12-04-2014
